Roberto Bautista Agut is not a strange name in the world of male tennis as he is one of the phenomenal Spanish male professional players. He was born into the family of Joaquin and Ester on the 14th of April, 1988. However, he lost his parents within a year, with his mother giving up suddenly in 2018 and his father following suit toward the end of 2019.

He started playing tennis at the age of 5 when he was registered at a tennis academy by his mother. During this period, he also played football for Villarreal C.F and stopped to focus on his tennis career when he was 14. He owns seven horses and enjoys horseback riding during his leisure period.

Roberto became a pro in 2005 and has won 11 Singles career titles, with no title in the Doubles category to his name. He has a career highest ranking of 9 in the World’s Singes category on the 4th of November 2019 and currently ranks 18 worldwide. Tomas was the immediate replacement of Roberto’s former coach, Pepe Vendrell before he later added Daniel Gimeno as a rotating coach. Roberto rates him highly when he speaks about Daniel on most occasions; one of such occasions was when he said, “Dani has started out very keen and excited. I have approached it with the same attitude and feel very happy. Dani is great, a very good guy,” Bautista Agut said. “We already had a good relationship off the court. Now I guess the relationship will be even stronger. He’s someone who has a lot of experience after being a good player. He has a different background from Pepe, who has been fantastic and fundamental for my career. “Dani will tell me new things; he’ll help both technically and tactically.”

Daniel did not have an exceptional career, although he could pull a career highest ranking of 48 in the Singles and 63 in the Doubles. He also won one Doubles title without any Singles career title, although he made an appearance at the final of the 2015 Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca, Morocco.

He currently serves as a rotating coach to Roberto. He has been playing a key role in assisting Roberto to revive his professional career and possibly retire on a high-end note.

Previous Coaches Of Roberto Bautista Agut

Roberto would have passed through several coaches during his career development as a young player. However, the most recognized first coach of the Spanish player is Pepe Vendrell, and they ended up spending 11 years together before they split up in 2021.

Pepe Vendrell

Vendrell was there throughout the ups and downs of Roberto’s career, and the separation remains unbelievable to Roberto, who could not conceal his feelings and let this statement out;

During their 11-year partnership, Vendrell was to guide Roberto to a total of 11 Singles titles and a career highest ranking of the world’s number 9. Roberto also won the Most Improved Player of the Season Award under his guidance in 2014.
