German tennis player Julia Goerges overcame the barrier of the 1/4 finals of the tournament in Auckland, having defeated Eugenie Bouchard of the Canadian in three sets, – 3/6, 6/3, 7/6 (6). For 2 hours and 28 minutes of the fight, the 14th racket of the world, 30-year-old Julia, made two breaks and seven aces, mistaken three times when serving. The 24-year-old Bouchard, who is ranked 87th in the WTA ranking, took the rival’s bid twice, made one ace and three double faults. German came forward in the personal meetings of athletes – 2: 1.
