The 22nd racket of the world, Briton Kyle Edmund, lost to American Denis Kudla, who occupies the 82nd line of the ATP rating, with a 4/6, 3/6 score at the start of the Munich tournament.
The match lasted 1 hour and 7 minutes. During this time, the 24-year-old Edmund performed five aces, twice made a mistake when serving and did not realize a single break point, and the 26-year-old Kudla served up eight times, made one double mistake and made three breaks.
