Dutch tennis player Kiki Bertens overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Stuttgart, beating German Anna Lena Fridzam – 7/5, 6/2.
For 1 hour and 38 minutes of the match, the seventh racket of the world, 27-year-old Kiki, made three breaks and four aces, mistaken three times when serving. Fridzam, 25, who occupies the 681st line of the world ranking table, did not file through and made two double mistakes.
The Dutchwoman increased the gap in the personal meetings of the athletes – 2: 0. In the second round of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix competition, Bertens will play either with the Swiss Belinda Bencic or with Mandy Minella from Luxembourg.
