Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencic overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Charleston, beating Australian Destanee Aiava – 6/3, 6/0.
The match lasted 55 minutes. The 21st WTA rating number, 22-year-old Belinda, sold six break points, made one ace and made a mistake once. 18-year-old Aiava, occupying the 205th line of the world table of ranks, once took the submission of a rival, made three aces and four double errors.
Previously between the athletes have not met. In the second round of the Volvo Car Open competition, Bencic will play with American Alexandra Kiick, who defeated French Pauline Parmentier, 6/3, 6/0.
