Estonian tennis player Anett Kontaveit commented on reaching the quarterfinals of the tournament in Miami.
“Bianca had so many matches. Of course, she felt very tired. Bianca had a real breakthrough, I respect her very much. I think today I did everything quite well. When we went to court, the clouds looked very menacing. I expected it to rain soon will begin. I had a little snack, changed clothes and began to warm up again.
The first two matches in Miami were very hard for me. These were stubborn battles. I was pleased with my game of tie-breaks, especially in the match with Tomljanovic. I played great. I felt that already in Indian Wells I was showing good tennis. I had a very difficult fight with Karolina Pliskova. I thought I was showing a good level of tennis and served incredibly well in the third set. In general, I am pleased with my game in the last couple of weeks.
Then I will meet with Su-Wei Hsieh. I like to watch her play: she acts in a variety of ways. It’s hard to find a rhythm with her. I will need to play very well to win. I remember that we had some excellent joint workouts. We communicate very well. In training, she laid out in full and acted very variably, “- quotes Anett press service of the Tour.
