Romanian Simona Halep commented on her victory over Slovenian Polona Hercog and the upcoming meeting with the American Venus Williams in Miami.
“The match was not easy, because we both played at the highest level. Hercog acted perfectly. If she continues to perform in the same spirit, she will enter Top 20 without any problems. I am glad that I won, although I had to put a lot of strength . The first two games were difficult. Polona perfectly served, she had excellent shots from the forehand, backhand and sliced. It was difficult for me to oppose her, and besides, she was hardly mistaken.
As for Venus, it is always difficult to confront her. I don’t think that after three matches won, it will be easier for me. However, I have a great motivation, I am ready to fight.
