Slovakian tennis player Dominica Cibulkova overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Dubai, having beaten Spaniard Lara Arruabarrena in sets, – 5/7, 6/1, 6/2.
The match lasted 1 hour and 55 minutes. The 30th World No. 29, Dominica, 29, made seven breaks and two aces, making a mistake seven times when serving. 26-year-old Arruabarrena, occupying the 93rd position in the world classification, took an opponent four times, made five aces and six double faults.
Slovak has increased the gap in the personal meetings of athletes – 2: 0. In the second round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, Cibulkova will play with the Czech Karoline Pliskova.
