German tennis player Andrea Petkovic overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Budapest, beating Romanian Ana Bogdan in two sets – 6/1, 6/1.
The match lasted 57 minutes. The 66th racket of the world, 31-year-old Andrea, made six breaks and three aces, having mistaken twice when serving. Bogdan, 26, who is ranked 104th in the world classification, once took the opponent’s submission, made four aces and two double faults.
Previously between the athletes have not met. In the second round of the Hungarian Ladies Open, Petkovic will play either with Russian Anastasia Potapova or with British player Heather Watson.
