Swiss Stan Wawrinka commented on his defeat in the final tournament in Rotterdam .
“Gael and I often practiced along with the offseason, as well as at the recent tournament in Sofia. The final was not easy. Monfils acted perfectly, made the right decisions at key moments of the meeting. It was sometimes difficult for me to work with my feet, especially when I had to play more aggressive and decided the outcome of the confrontation.
I am glad that I reached the final and showed a high level of tennis. I went to this for several months and will continue to move in this direction.
“I work a lot outside the court, but only playing practice can give confidence,” the ATP press service quotes Wawrinka as saying.
