Ugo Humbert was once one of the fastest-rising French youngsters in tennis and has been ranked as high as 25 in the past. However, his career started collapsing after he sustained some injuries and is now ranked 100 worldwide.
The 24-year-old was born on the 26th of June, 1998, in Metz, France, into the family of Eric and Anne. Ugo started playing tennis at five after watching his father play the game.
At 12, he decided to continue his training at the French Tennis Federation in Poitiers, Paris and catches the train daily to the city. He could have had an outstanding junior career but also suffered several injuries that affected his career.
Nevertheless, he achieved a junior career highest ranking of 18.
Ugo has won three (3) Singles titles and zero (0) Doubles titles since he started competing at ATP Tours. He has also achieved a career-highest ranking of 25 and is gradually regaining his form.
Who Is The Current Coach Of Ugo Humbert?
The current coach of Ugo Humbert is Jeremy Chardy and Thierry Ascione. From further research, we discovered that Ugo has been working with Thierry for quite some time and recently linked up with Jeremy.
Jeremy Chardy
Jeremy is an inactive French professional tennis player who was forced to take a break from competing in tennis tournaments after suffering an adverse reaction to the covid-19 vaccine. The player has continued openly criticising the vaccine and says he regretted getting vaccinated.
The French player turned coach is an excellent team player and has won 7 Doubles titles with a career-highest ranking of 24 in this category. He has also been quite remarkable and has won one (1) Singles title with a career-highest ranking of 25 in this category.
In July, Ugo announced that he would add Jeremy to his coaching team, and they were spotted together during a training session at Newport. Jeremy worked shortly with Alexei Popyrin and was with the Australian at the 2022 Bordeaux Challenger.
Thierry Ascione
Thierry, Ugo’s main coach, is an ex-professional French tennis player who played between 2000 and 2010 before he hung his rackets. The French international did not have the best senior career since he won no Singles or Doubles title, although he achieved a career highest ranking of 81 in the Singles and 140 in the Doubles.
However, he has been quite a successful coach, having worked with the likes of Elina Svitolina, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Richard Gasquet.
Thierry currently works with Lucas Pouille alongside Ugo.
Ugo has not won any title with Jeremy as he looks to revive his career under the guidance of the French coach. Since it is difficult to determine when Thierry joined Ugo’s team, we cannot say how many titles they have won together. Nonetheless, Thierry was believed to be present when Ugo won the 2021 Halle Open.

Previous Coaches Of Ugo Humbert
Ugo has worked with numerous coaches during his career development. Some coaches are known and identified by major tennis platforms, while others are anonymous. Luckily, we were able to find out three of the previous coaches that have worked with Ugo; these are:
Nicolas Copin
Nicolas Copin was an ex-French professional tennis player who marched the court in the 90s. He achieved a career highest ranking of 568 on the ATP and did not win any title. Nicolas’s relationship with Ugo was relatively short and lasted only a year. However, we think the relationship was possible because Nicolas was the captain of the France National tennis team at the time.
Ugo won a title (2021 Halle Open) under the guidance of Nicolas before he sustained an injury towards the end of the season, which resulted in their separation. Nicolas is the coach of a fellow French tennis player, Gregoire Barrere.
Cyril Brechbuhl
Cyril is one of the long-term coaches of Ugo and was the mastermind behind his success during the 2020 season. Cyril is also an ex-French professional tennis player, although he never made it to the ATP. The French coach competed on the IFT circuit and probably did not win any title, as suggested by the ITF website.
Ugo won his first two ATP titles with Cyril and broke into the top 30 for the first time in his career. Their relationship was terrific since Ugo improved significantly and gained the attention he deserved during this period.
Cédric Raynaud
Cedric is another French coach linked to Ugo and has described the tennis star as an offensive player who likes to volley in 2018. Cedric is believed to have laid the foundation for Ugo’s growth and is forever grateful to him. However, their relationship ended when the tennis star began working with Cyril Brechbuhl.
