Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov was born in 1991 in Haskovo in a family of athletes. His father coaches tennis players and his mother is a former volleyball player. She also gave Grigor a tennis racket when he was only three years old. And at the age of five the boy already stepped onto the tennis court. At first his father trained him, but later well-known foreign professionals took over his training. As a teenager, Dimitrov went to Paris, where he studied at the tennis academy of the famous Patrick Muratoglu.
When Grigor was fourteen, he began to win his first awards in tennis. First, the tennis player distinguished himself at the European Championships, where he won the championship in his age category. In 2006, he was able to win the Orange Bowl under the sixteen category and a year later was victorious in the under eighteen category at this tournament.
In 2008 Grigor Dimitrov debuted at the Junior Grand Slam. Not long after that, he displayed his talent at the U.S. Open as well, making him the world’s first racket in the junior category.
Grigor Dimitrov has been playing at professional tournaments since 2008. In the same year he managed to get his first victory in a match of the Association of Tennis Professionals tournament.
In 2011, the tennis player managed to get into the top 100 rackets in the world, where he settled on the 85th position. In 2013 Dimitrov got his first ATP tournament title.
