American tennis player Sloane Stephens overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Acapulco, beating Frenchwoman Pauline Parmentier in two sets, – 6/2, 6/2.
For 1 hour 9 minutes of the match, the fourth racket of the world, 25-year-old Sloan, made six breaks and two aces. 33-year-old Parmentier, who is 53rd in the world classification, twice took the pitch and made three double mistakes. American remains the leader in the personal meetings of athletes – 4: 1.
