Swiss tennis player Roger Federer overcame the second-round barrier of the Masters in Madrid, beating Frenchman Richard Gasquet – 6/2, 6/3.
The fight lasted 52 minutes. The third racket of the world, 37-year-old Roger, made three breaks and seven aces, making a mistake once when serving. 32-year-old Gasquet, occupying the 39th place in the world classification, made one ace and two double faults.
The Swiss remains the leader in the personal meetings of the players – 18: 2. In the third round of the Mutua Madrid Open tournament, Federer will play either with Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, or with Frenchman Gael Monfils.
