For 2 hours and 22 minutes of the match Novak made five aces and eight breaks, making a mistake when serving four times. Whereas Denis filed through six times and realized three break points, making five double faults.
The personal meetings of opponents became 1-0 in favor of the Serb. In the fourth round of the Australian Open, Djokovic will play against Russian Daniil Medvedev.
