Nick Kyrgios Career
Nick Kyrgios, born April 27, 1995 in Canberra, Australia, began playing tennis at the age of six. Kyrgios quickly made a name for himself in junior tennis, winning his first youth trophy in 2010. He earned two junior Grand Slam doubles titles and became the top-ranked junior player after winning the Australian Junior Open in 2013.
Kyrgios transitioned to professional tennis quite smoothly, having already played in adult tours and undergone training at the Australian Institute of Sport from 2011 to 2013. His professional career took off in 2013 when he won his first junior series trophy in Sydney. The same year, he debuted at Roland Garros, making it to the second round after defeating Radek Stepanek.
His major breakthrough came in 2014 at Wimbledon. Entering the tournament as a wild card, he won the first round and then caused a major upset by defeating world No. 1 Rafael Nadal. This victory catapulted him into the top 100. By the start of 2015, he had improved his Grand Slam performance, reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
Despite having an injury-prone career, Kyrgios has maintained impressive performances. He finished the 2015 season in the top 30 of the ATP rankings. He continued to rise, finishing the season in the top 15 after winning his debut ATP trophy and more titles in Atlanta and Tokyo.

His career, however, has been marked by controversies and motivational problems, which have affected his performance and relationship with fans.
By 2021, Kyrgios’ injuries became chronic, forcing him to miss most of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He ended the 2021 season early due to a knee injury, but managed to bounce back in 2022. He put on strong performances at Wimbledon and the US Open, securing another ATP 500 title.
