The 38th World No., Slovak Martin Klizan, beat Bosnian Mirza Basic, who is ranked 99th on the ATP, with a score of 6/0, 3/6, 6/2 at the start of the Sofia tournament.
The match lasted 1 hour and 22 minutes. During this time, the 29-year-old Klizan completed nine aces, twice made a mistake when serving and sold five break points, and the 27-year-old Basic once filed right through, sent two double mistakes and made two breaks.
Previously, the score in personal meetings was 3-0 in favor of the Slovak. In the second round of the Sofia Open competition, Klizan will play against the German Daniel Brands.
