Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem went into the third round of the tournament in Madrid on the refusal of the American Reilly Opelka, – 6/7 (2), 6/3, 1/0.
For 1 hour 37 minutes of the match, the fifth number of the ATP rating, 25-year-old Dominic, made two breaks and three aces, mistaken three times when serving. 21-year-old Opelka, occupying the 58th place in the world classification, made 12 aces and two double faults.
Previously, the players did not meet each other. Thiem’s next opponent in the Mutua Madrid Open competition will be either the Italian Fabio Fognini or the Australian John Millman.
