Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem overcame the barrier of the second round of the competition in Buenos Aires, beating the German Maximilian Marterer in two sets – 6/4, 6/4.
For 1 hour and 22 minutes of the match, the eighth racket of the world, 25-year-old Dominic, realized four break points and was mistaken three times when serving. The 23-year-old Marterer, who occupies the 85th position in the world classification, twice took the opponent’s serve, made one ace and three double mistakes. The Austrian has increased the gap in the personal meetings of players – 2: 0.
In the quarterfinals of the Argentina Open tournament, Thiem will play against Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas.
