Canadian Denis Shapovalov shared his expectations of meeting with Swiss Roger Federer in the semifinal of “Masters” in Miami.
“I’ve been waiting for this match all my life. Playing with an idol in the semifinals of the Masters is a dream. Apparently, you will have to wear tennis sun glasses in order not to see Roger on the other side of the net. I will be preparing for this fight the same way as for the others this week, because so far everything is going fine. I’ll just go to court, lay out 100% and try to enjoy every minute. I cannot demand more from myself. Of course, it will not be easy for me, but I am glad to have the opportunity to simply play with Federer in the semifinals of such a big tournament, ”the ATP press service quoted Shapovalov as saying.
Note that Federer made his debut at a tournament in Miami a month before Shapovalov was born.
