American tennis player Steve Johnson broke the 1/8 finals of the tournament in Delray Beach, beating in two sets the Italian Paolo Lorenzi, – 7/5, 7/5.
For 1 hour 57 minutes of the match, the 34th racket of the world, 29-year-old Steve, recorded two breaks and seven aces, making a mistake twice when serving. 37-year-old Lorenzi, who occupies 105th place in the world classification, made five aces and the same double mistakes.
Previously between the players have not met. In a duel for reaching the semifinals of the Delray Beach Open competition, Johnson will fight Radu Albot from Moldova.
