Russian Daniil Medvedev spoke about his passion for chess in an interview with Tennis Magazine.
– I love the PlayStation more, but I really play chess. Not on a professional level, but not bad. It seems to me that Russians play chess well.
Does it help in tennis?
– I do not know. Of course, chess will not improve your strike from forehand. Mom always offered me a lot of different activities besides tennis, she said that it might not work out with him. Therefore, I studied physics and mathematics. This helped develop the analytical skills that now help on the court.
– Do you study in parallel with tennis?
“Now I don’t have time for this at all.” But after completing my career, I would like to continue my studies. Perhaps explore the business. Or I will become a coach, or an amateur chess player. I hope I have a big family.
