Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev overcame the 1/2 barrier of the competition in Washington by defeating the German Peter Gojowczyk – 6/2, 6/2.
For the 55 minutes of the match, the tenth racket of the world, 23-year-old Daniil, recorded five breaks and seven aces, having made a mistake when serving. 30-year-old Peter, who occupies 122nd place in the ATR rating, once took the opponent’s pitch, made three aces and as many double mistakes.
Previously, the players did not meet among themselves.
In the final of the Citi Open tournament, Medvedev will play with Australian Nick Kyrgios.
