Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem broke the barrier of the quarter finals of the tournament in Buenos Aires, beating Pablo Cuevas from Uruguay in three sets, 4/6, 6/4, 6/3.
For 1 hour and 49 minutes of the match, the eighth racket of the world, 25-year-old Dominic, made three breaks and four aces, mistaken three times when serving. The 33-year-old Cuevas, occupying the 78th line of the world table of ranks, twice took the opponent’s pitch, made four aces and three double mistakes.
The Austrian went ahead in the personal meetings of the players – 3: 2.
In the semifinals of the Argentina Open competition, Thiem will play with Argentinean Diego Schwartzman.
