Benoit Paire Career
Benoit Paire is one of the brightest representatives of his nation. He was born on May 8, 1989 in Avignon. At that time nobody knew that the child would grow up to be a famous tennis player and achieve good success at international level.
He started his professional career in 2007, at Futures level, winning one event (the France F10). The next few seasons Paire played more Challenger tournaments and even won them. He had little success on the ATP Tour and often failed to qualify for tournaments.
In 2012 the Frenchman began to play more often in the main draw of ATP tournaments. The Serbian Open was the first ATP tournament where Benoit reached the finals. He was disappointed in the final, losing to Andreas Seppi of Italy.

Benoit had waited eight years for his first title since the start of his career on the ATP Tour. At the Swedish Open, Benoit was not seeded, but was able to show good tennis by beating strong players, including second-seeded Tommy Robredo in the final. In the same season the athlete reached the 4th round of the Grand Slam for the first time in his career. In the next round of the US Open he was stopped by his compatriot Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
The next few seasons did not bring success to the Frenchman. He showed his best tennis and could not compete for titles.
2019 was one of the best seasons of Benoit Paire’s career. The Frenchman won two ATP titles, the first in Marrakech and the second at home in Lyon, beating Felix Auger Aliassime in the final in two sets. That same season, Paire reached the fourth round at two majors, the French Open and Wimbledon.
In early 2020, Paire had a great chance to increase his number of trophies at the ATP tournaments. He reached the final of the tournament in Auckland, where he missed out on a tiebreaker victory in the third set to his compatriot Ugo Humbert. Then the tournaments were canceled due to the coronovirus pandemic and Benoit was not able to perform at his best.
Current season
The first part of the season Benoit Paire frankly failed. He rarely managed to go beyond the second round of the competition. Benoit will try to return to his former form in the American series tournaments. At Cincinnati tournament he already managed to get to the 3rd round of the competition beating on his way Miomir Kecmanovic and Denis Shapovalov.
