Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev broke the barrier of the 1/2 final of the tournament in Barcelona, beating Japanese Kei Nishikori – 6/4, 3/6, 7/5.
The match lasted 2 hours and 24 minutes. The 14th racket of the world, 23-year-old Daniil, made three breaks and eight aces, making a double mistake when serving. Kei, 29, who ranks seventh in the ATP rating, took the opponent’s serve twice, made one ace and one double mistake. In personal meetings, the players established equality – 2: 2.
In the finals of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell competition, Medvedev will play with Austrian Dominic Thiem.
Note that for the Russians, this is the first time to reach the final of the clay tournament.
