Ashleigh Barty commented on her first-round match victory against Russia’s Vera Zvonareva at the U.S. Open.
“Obviously, it was a tough match against Vera. She’s an experienced player. She knows how to get herself into the game. I think overall my adjustment to the tournament was a little slower than I probably would have liked, but we got through it. Me and the team have another chance to improve on that in the next round,” Tennis Up To Date quoted Barty as saying.
