Former world’s first racquet Ana Ivanovic responded to Kim Clijsters‘ return to the Tour.
“We talked to Kim a lot when I first started my performances. You could say that she was my mentor. Then we became friends. Kim had a daughter, and then she came back and won the Major. That’s a terrific result.
I have a lot of respect for her. However, it’s hard for me to imagine that her next return will be successful. It’s not that she’s in bad shape. It’s just that her body reacts differently after having three children. Besides, after all these years, it’s hard to enter a competitive rhythm.
Saw a couple of matches with Kim. She still kicks the ball perfectly. I sincerely hope that she will be able to rise to a high level, but it will be incredibly difficult to do so,” Eurosport quoted Ivanovic.
