German Angelique Kerber commented on her defeat in the fourth round of the Australian Open.
“What can I say. I had a bad day. I didn’t manage to show what I can do. My opponent played great. I think it was one of the best matches of her career. She got every distance and moved well. It was not my day, not my game, but one should not underestimate its merits.
In the warm-up, I felt good, but it happens. It is a pity that I lost at this stage. I could not catch the rhythm. I fought to the end, but I did not find my game, ”the tournament press service quotes Kerber as saying.
