Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas commented on his victory at ATP Finals and told the story of an acquaintance with Austrian Dominic Tim.
“I am happy that I got a chance to play on the Final. This is a big event in my life. I became a champion, but I can’t explain it. I am overwhelmed with emotions, but I don’t feel anything. Holding this trophy is a little scary. I used to watch competition on tv and now won here.
Tim and I first met three years ago in London. Then I was the first racket of the world among juniors, and ITF invited me as a sparring partner for the participants of the Final. Then our first training took place. And now we met in the finals. This is unbelievable.
As for my last year’s victory in Milan, this is a great opportunity for young players. Then I spent a wonderful season, and the trophy was a cool end to it. I understood that one of the best in the tournament, and believed in my success.
