German tennis player Alexander Zverev overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Hamburg, beating Chilean Nicolas Jarry – 6/4, 6/2.
The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes. The fifth racket of the world, 22-year-old Alexander, made four breaks and five aces, mistaken twice when serving. 23-year-old Jarry, who occupies the 38th place in the world classification, once took the opponent’s submission, made two aces and as many double mistakes. Previously, the score in the personal meetings of the players was equal – 1: 1.
In the second round of the Hamburg European Open competition, Zverev will play either with the Italian Marco Cecchinato or with the Argentinean Federico Delbonis.
