Swiss tennis player Roger Federer spoke about the reasons for the defeat of the Austrian Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinal of the Masters in Madrid.
“The week turned out to be quite good, but at the moment I am disappointed. To be defeated without realizing the match ball, this is the most disgusting thing that can be. It is these feelings that I now feel. However, if you look at the big picture, everything is pretty good.
I think that showed a quality game. Held in Madrid a few good fights. Starting was important in terms of adaptation to the coating, and meetings with Monfils and Thiem showed my level on the ground. In both matches there was a tense struggle.
I could not make a decision regarding the performance in a tournament in Rome before the game, because the result could be anything. Actually, I did not think about playing there, but now I am in the grid, because I want to consider all the options. I will probably report my decision on the weekend until I can say something definite.
I do not know in what capacity I will come to Madrid next year. I have no clear plans for the 2020 ground season. This week everything went great, I am glad that I was very warmly welcomed. Of course, I would like to come back here, but so far I don’t know how things will turn out, ”Federer quotes Metro.
