For 1 hour 30 minutes of the match Dominic made one ace, five aces and one double mistake. Jaume filed three times right through and realized one break-point, making three double faults.
Score in the personal meetings of opponents was 2-0 in favor of the Austrian. In the quarterfinal of the Barcelona tournament, Thiem will play against either Frenchman Benoit Paire or Argentinean Guido Pella.
