Victoria Azarenka is a professional tennis player from Belarus who has already won 21 WTA tournaments, including the 2 Grand Slams titles. Numerous victories at tournaments have helped her rise to No. 1 in the WTA rankings, in January 2012.

Victoria Azarenka was born on July 31, 1989 in Minsk (Belarus). Her father Fyodor Mikhailovich works as a driving instructor and her mother Alla Valentinovna is a methodologist at the National Olympic Tennis Training Centre. The athlete also has an older brother Maksim.
For the first time, Victoria picked up a racket at the age of seven at her mother’s insistence. She began her professional career in 2003. Two years later she qualified for her first WTA tournament in Guangzhou where she made it to the semi-finals. This allowed her to enter the top 200.
The most successful years for the athlete were 2012 and 2013. That’s when she won the bronze medal in singles at the London Olympics and gold in the mixed doubles with Maksim Mirny, as well as winning trophies at the Australian Open.
In 2016, Azarenka became a mother, giving birth to her son Leo. However, the athlete’s recovery and her return to the Tour was overshadowed by legal proceedings with her ex-boyfriend over custody of her son.
Favorite stroke is backhand. Favorite surface: hard court. Her idol in tennis is Roger Federer. In her free time, Victoria prefers listening to music, going out with friends, surfing, cooking, watching comedies and singing karaoke.
