Petra Kvitova was born on March 8, 1990 in the Czech town of Bilovec. Her father Jiri is the vice-mayor of the city, and her mother Pavel is a housewife. Petra has two brothers, Jiri and Libor.
Now the athlete lives in Monte Carlo. Kvitova started her professional career in 2006 and won two ITF tournament titles in the same season. A year later Petra debuted in the WTA main draw and in the 2008 season she entered the Top 50 for the first time.
Kvitova says her favorite strokes are on the forehand, backhand and serve, and her childhood idol is Martina Navratilova. Petra speaks Czech and English. In her free time, the Czech likes to watch comedies, listen to pop and rock music, and visit Italian and Japanese restaurants.
