Belinda Bencic was born on March 10, 1997 in the Swiss town of Flaville to a family of immigrants from Czechoslovakia. She started playing tennis at the age of three under the guidance of Melanie Molitor, mother of the legendary Martina Hingis.
She began her professional career in 2011 playing in an ITF tournament. A year later, she made her WTA main event debut in Luxembourg and won two singles titles in ITF tournaments. Bencic won her WTA Tour debut trophy at the 2015 Eastbourne competition.
In her free time, Belinda likes to spend time with friends, as well as watching movies and reading magazines.
