Andrea Petkovic is a German professional tennis player, who has already won 6 WTA tournaments. Numerous victories at tournaments have helped her rise to No. 9 in the WTA rankings, in October 2011, which is her best result.

Andrea Petkovic was born on September 9, 1987 in Tuzla (former Yugoslavia). Her father Zoran was a tennis player and her daughter’s first coach, and her mother Amira is a dental assistant. The athlete has a younger sister, Anya.
Andrea first picked up a racket at the age of six at her father’s suggestion. She began her professional career in 2006. She first played in a WTA main draw in Hasselt at the same time. The following season she was able to finish in the top 100 world rankings. Petkovic won her first trophy in 2009 in Badgastein. Two years later she managed to enter the Top 10.
However, after a double injury, she rolled back outside the Top 100 in 2012. Nevertheless, she managed to come back successfully: in 2013 she returned to the Top 40, in 2014 she won titles in Charleston, Badgastein and Sofia and in 2015 in Antwerp.
Her favorite stroke is the forehand, her favorite surface is the ground. Speaks French, German, English and Serbian. In his spare time he likes to read and write, as well as go to museums and watch basketball.
