Alex de Minaur was born on February 17, 1999 in Sydney. His father, Aníbal, is an Uruguayan who owns a restaurant in Sydney. The Player’s mother Esther is Spanish and worked as a waitress in the restaurant. Alex has two brothers and three sisters: Dominic, Daniel, Natalie, Cristina, and Sara. He started playing tennis at the age of four, his mother signed him up for lessons.
Alex now also resides in Sydney. The tennis player began his professional career in 2015, a year later he played in his first Challenger final and won his first ITF tournament. In the same season, he reached the second place in the junior rankings. Took his first ATP title in 2019, winning a tournament in Sydney.
He speaks three languages: English, Spanish and French. His nickname is Demon. Favorite surface – grass, backhand stroke, tournaments – Australian Open and Wimbledon. Got a tattoo with the text “109” when he became the 109th player in the history of the national team in the Davis Cup.
