Ajla Tomljanovic is a professional tennis player from Australia who has not yet won a single WTA tournament. Numerous victories at tournaments have helped her rise to No. 39 in the WTA rankings in April 2019.

Ajla Tomljanovic was born May 7, 1993 in Zagreb, Croatia. Her parents are named Ratko and Emina. She also has an older sister, Hanna, who got Ajla involved in tennis.
Tomljanovic first picked up a racket at age six. She began her professional career in 2009. That same year she was invited to compete in Indian Wells, which allowed her to debut on the WTA Tour. The following season Ayla made her first appearance for the Croatian national team in the Fed Cup.
In 2014 the athlete decides to change her sports citizenship and plays under the Australian flag at the US Open. However, at smaller tournaments, she still played for some time as a representative of Croatia.
Her favorite stroke is a backhand. Favorite surface – hard. The tennis player speaks Croatian, English and German. In her free time, she likes to watch basketball and soccer games.
