Swiss tennis player Roger Federer commented on the release of his own sneaker model.
“Today is 17 years since I won my first Wimbledon. And although I’m sorry I can’t be with all of you, I can imagine the project we’ve been working on for a long time. These aren’t tennis sneakers, these are shoes for everyday life. I hope that you will want to wear them in some pleasant moments, maybe when you watch the match of your favorite tennis player, I don’t know (laughs). A lot of people thought I was working on my own line of tennis shoes, but it’s really a long process. Maybe someday it will.
Now it’s just the beginning, there will be a lot of things ahead of you, I hope that this model will become classic. We wanted to make something similar to the sports shoes that we used to have, like the shoes that were made in the days of Borg and McEnroe, but more comfortable and using modern technology. If anyone can cheer me up today, I will be very happy. I’m glad I can finally imagine this model because no matter how fascinating it is to keep a secret, you always feel scared not to blab (laughs). Did I show this shoe to Anne Wintour? I think my agent did. If there’s no criticism, that’s good (laughs), of course I’ll send her a pair,” Roger said.
