– I’ll tell you honestly. Usually yes. But in the current situation, when I only come back from an injury, I don’t look beyond one day. I did not even know that Edmund is in my part of the grid. Now I have a difficult rival – De Minaur. In my opinion, he has already won seven games in a row. Every day puts new difficulties. Today I took an important step forward. I think I played very well. I’m happy with everything.
I am a positive person. I always believed that I could cope with problems. But, of course, there were periods when the light at the end of the tunnel was not visible. Dealing with problems in such moments is difficult. I have always strived for one thing – to move forward. Even in those moments when I didn’t have much motivation and I didn’t understand why I should go to court, I tried to go forward. This is the only way to maintain self-confidence and move on. That’s all. I already have experience in overcoming difficulties. Yes, sometimes it was hard psychologically.
At the same time, I understand that tennis is not something that I will do all my life. I want to continue as long as I manage to fight for high places, as long as my passion for the game continues.
