Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal spoke about his motivation in an interview with ESPN.
“Of course, it’s nice to break records. Nowadays, three people have already beaten Pete Sampras in the number of Grand Slam titles. But I understand that if I managed to achieve something, one day a new player will come and achieve more.
Everybody knows that I took twelve Roland Garros Cups, and that’s a lot and quite difficult. But I’m just a regular person. I don’t know when, but my record in Paris is definitely going to be broken. And it’s not a big deal. My life will go on, and I will be satisfied with my achievements. When I finish my career, I won’t think about my titles. Happiness is not measured by cups and records.” – said Nadal.
