Croatian tennis player Petra Martic broke the barrier of the 1/8 final of the French Open, beating Estonian Kaia Kanepi – 5/7, 6/2, 6/4.
The match lasted 2 hours and 12 minutes. The 31st racket of the world, 28-year-old Petra, sold seven break points, completed one ace and was wrong eight times when serving. 34-year-old Kaia, who occupies the 88th place in the WTA ranking, took a rival’s bid five times, made two aces and five double faults. Previously athletes have not met.
In the quarterfinals of the tournament Martić will play with Marketa Vondrousova.
