The second racket of the world, Czech Petra Kvitova, beat Maria Sakkari from Greece, who is ranked 49th in the WTA ranking, with a score of 6/1, 6/4 in the second round of the Miami tournament.
The match lasted 1 hour and 9 minutes. During this time, 29-year-old Kvitova completed five aces, twice made a mistake when serving and sold four break points, and 23-year-old Sakkari once served right through, made four double mistakes and made one break.
This was the first official meeting of athletes. In the third round of the Miami Open competition, Kvitova will face off with Croat Donna Vekic.
