Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova overcame the barrier of the first round of the Australian Open, beating Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova in two sets, – 6/3, 6/2.
For 1 hour and 7 minutes of the match, the sixth racket of the world, 28-year-old Petra, recorded five breaks and eight aces, having made four wrong mistakes when serving. Rybarikova, 30, who is 51st in the world classification, took the opponent’s pitch twice, made one ace and one double mistake.
Czech remains the leader in the personal meetings of athletes – 7: 1. In the second round of the tournament, Kvitova will fight Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, who passed on the refusal of the German Andrea Petkovic, – 6/7 (3), 4/3.
