The ninth racket of the world, Japanese Kei Nishikori, beat Spaniard Pablo Carreño-Busta in five sets, occupying the 23rd line of the ATP rating, with a score of 6/7 (8), 4/6, 7/6 (4), 6/4, 7/6 (10: 8) in the fourth round of the Australian Open.
Tennis players spent on the court 5 hours 5 minutes. During this time, 29-year-old Nishikori completed 15 aces, twice made a mistake when serving and sold six break points, and 27-year-old Carreño-Busta filed five times, made two double mistakes and made six breaks.
This was the first official meeting of athletes. In the quarter finals of the Australian Open, Nishikori will cross racquets with a Serb Novak Djokovic or Russian Daniil Medvedev.
