Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova broke the barrier of the second round of the Australian Open, beating the Swedish team Rebecca Peterson in two sets – 6/2, 6/1.
The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes. The 30th World No. 31, Maria, made five breaks and one ace, mistaken twice when serving. 23-year-old Peterson, who occupies the 64th position in the world classification, did not pass through and made one double mistake.
Previously between the athletes have not met. In the third round of the tournament Sharapova will meet with Caroline Wozniacki.
