Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina shared her impressions of her victory in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon.
“I am very pleased and have tremendous emotions, but I try not to dwell on it. I used to try not to think about what I always lost in the quarter finals. Now this barrier has been passed.
I think that over the years I have become more patient. In the quarterfinals, I had a lot of hard fights. Sometimes I frankly did not have enough luck, sometimes I was not in the best shape.
In any case, I gain experience. There comes the realization that you need to save power, competently approach the training process. Everyone eventually finds his way. It seems that I succeeded.
Today I had to wear down my opponent. This is a very difficult task. Fatigue affected Caroline’s actions, and I had to take advantage of this, ”the WTA press service quoted Elina as saying.
“We often met with Halep. Perhaps, since our last match, I became another. I am sure that an exciting match awaits us. I hope that I can demonstrate my best tennis.
In general, now I just enjoy the fact that I play freely and show high-quality tennis. Reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals is a special moment, ”added Svitolina.
