The captain of the Italian national team in the “Davis Cup” Corrado Barazutti expressed dissatisfaction with the changing format of the tournament.
“In the Davis Cup” rating makes you feel more confident. It determines whether you will play under the first number or second, but on the court everything changes. The team and I won this tournament, but earlier it was much better. I would leave the five set format. It can be compared with the Grand Slam tournaments. No one is going to hold them in three sets and in one week.
Of course, money solves everything now. But I doubt that the strongest players act solely for the sake of money. It is unlikely that Federer, Nadal and Djokovic play “Slams” only because of the prize, “quotes Barazutti Tennis World USA.
