The young American tennis player Cori Gauff will soon play for the first time in Charleston. Her opponent will be Bulgarian tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova. Cori has played well in Adelaide and Dubai this season, reaching the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.
In an interview with the WTA Press Service, Cori talked about her change in attitude towards training.
Decided to cut down on the time I was spending on social media. There are too many people out there, eager to tell you how you should play. But personally, I think you choose your own path, and it shouldn’t be like other players. That’s what I’ve been working on – I want to focus on my own path.
Of course, I want to achieve high results, but it’s impossible without improving my game. Each new tournament is another learning curve. The more I play, the more I learn to understand myself and my tennis.
